Released in June 2001, You Are Here is Gina Forsyth's debut solo album. It presents Gina's vivid, offbeat original songs, with a Cajun fiddle track, a Mike West comedy song, and a rural church hymn. Musicians include Larry Clyman and David Doucet, guitars; Don Stiernberg, mandolin; Steve Rashid, Hammond B-3; Jim Markway bass; Doug Belote, drums; and Sue Demel, Nancy Walker, Kat Eggleston, and Myshkin, vocals.

Critics and fans alike have raved about You Are Here. Here's some of what they're saying:

"In one of the best independent or small-label submissions from a regional talent we've heard in a way long time, New Orleans' Gina Forsyth rips it up on You Are Here, an eclectic, beautifully played testament to choosing the right personnel and crafting a great song."
—Walter Pierce, The Daily Advertiser, Lafayette, LA

"Musically, Forsyth's traditional folk sound encompasses...bluegrass, Cajun, country, gospel and New Orleans rhythm and blues influences...a triumphant accomplishment"
—Margaret Coble, Southern Voice

"...truly one of the warmest singer-songwriter recordings in recent memory. May this girl go."
—Dan Willging, Offbeat, New Orleans, LA

"...crucial folk listening for those to whom Woody Guthrie has more significance than the Backstreet Boys."
Gambit Weekly, New Orleans, LA
